the story behind Little Italy...

The year was 1994 and a young man by the name of Martin Dupuis developed Little Italy Pizzeria. Having grown up just a stone’s throw from Brandon in Rivers, Martin held a variety of jobs before deciding to start his own business. He worked as a seamstress for curtains, a hired-hand, a courier, a bee keeper, he worked at Dominos, Pizza Factory and a variety of restaurants. As a matter of fact, at one point, Martin was working four restaurants in Winnipeg all at the same time.

Martin loves to travel and has been everywhere from New York to Seattle, Vegas to Los Angeles, Vancouver to New Foundland, Germany, France, Holland, and Switzerland. He has also toured Japan and in 2001 took a life altering trip to Russia.

In 2001, he made the fateful decsion to hire an interpreter and guide to tour Russia. That lovely young woman, named Elena, would become his wife within two years and now they have a lovely 2 year old named Tatiana.

In the coming months we will be introducing you to the Little Italy Crew. A unique blend of creative individuals who believe that their jobs are not always about the money - although tips are really appreciated. This crew is always going that extra mile to please our customers including developing new recipes - which will also be featured in our newletter...stay tuned!
